Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks Society- British Columbia, Kamloops

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks Society’s (ASSP) Learn to Ski/Snowboard/Sit Ski Program. This skill based program is designed to engage participants with physical disabilities in a healthy lifestyle. The program provides skiing, snowboarding or sit ski lessons to approximately 40 students with physical disabilities; including visual and hearing impaired adaptations as well as adaptations for intellectual and cognitive disabilities. The lessons are provided in a weekly package for 10 weeks total, 120 minutes a week. Funds from GoodLife Kids Foundation would go towards purchasing equipment, including a sit ski, which is an adaptive piece of equipment that allows participants with limited mobility in their lower limbs to ski while sitting down.
