Annapolis Valley Chapter of Autism Nova Scotia

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting Annapolis Valley Chapter of Autism Nova Scotia’s Summer Day Camp program. The camp is for both boys and girls (ages 5-19) with autism. Participants in the Summer Day Camp will enjoy many indoor and outdoor recreational activities including swimming, bowling, biking, hiking and basketball. On the surface this will look like a typical camp experience. However, the camp is highly structured with special methods to accommodate each participant’s individual needs. The camp will run for eight week sessions, where children will participate in five days during each camp session for five hours a day. Funding from GoodLife Kids Foundation will be used to cover costs of special physical activity outings for the campers.

On this final day of #NationalVolunteerWeek, we'd like to introduce you to one of our all-stars. Dr. Dick Barter is a force to be reckoned with. An emergency room physician and group fitness instructor, Dick knows the importance of physical activity in children's' lives. He is the man behind #Spin4Kids - the fundraiser started in St. John's, NL and has since inspired others event locations across the country to rally behind our cause. Under Dick's leadership over the years, the St. John's event alone has raised nearly $700,000 and is always a big party! Dick's passion has been key to bringing us to the next level... he truly is a man with a plan 🌟 #NVW2017 #VolunteeringEh? #Gratitude
