Autism Services of Saskatoon - Saskatchewan, Saskatoon

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting Autism Services of Saskatoon’s Fun In The Gym program. The ‘Fun In The Gym’ program provides an enriching environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Active time is filled with opportunities for social skills development, taking turns, and developing body awareness, control and coordination. ‘Fun In The Gym’ offers 1:1 staff to client ratio and unstructured programming so that children with autism can make safe and independent choices about their participation. Activities include running, jumping on the springboard, trampoline or in the foam pit, swinging on ropes, and balancing on beams. Funds from GoodLife Kids Foundation will allow the program to grow, alleviating the list of children waiting to participate in this unique physical activity opportunity.

On this final day of #NationalVolunteerWeek, we'd like to introduce you to one of our all-stars. Dr. Dick Barter is a force to be reckoned with. An emergency room physician and group fitness instructor, Dick knows the importance of physical activity in children's' lives. He is the man behind #Spin4Kids - the fundraiser started in St. John's, NL and has since inspired others event locations across the country to rally behind our cause. Under Dick's leadership over the years, the St. John's event alone has raised nearly $700,000 and is always a big party! Dick's passion has been key to bringing us to the next level... he truly is a man with a plan 🌟 #NVW2017 #VolunteeringEh? #Gratitude
