Big Brothers Big Sisters, Nova Scotia- Greater Halifax

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters Go Girls! program in the Greater Halifax Area. Go Girls! is a program designed to address the physical activity, balanced eating and positive self-image needs of young women ages 12-14 based on a group mentoring model.

The main goal of Go Girls! is to develop an appreciation of the benefits of an active, healthy, lifestyle among girls. It provides girls with the information and support they need to make informed choices about healthy, active living during a particularly challenging stage of development.  This program maintains sensitivity towards emotional, social and cultural issues.

The 2 hour sessions will be held once a week for 7 weeks and offered 4 times a year.  This program will be offered in the Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding areas including Dartmouth, Halifax, Sackville and Springfield.  The Boys & Girls Club in Cole Harbour will also be one host location for Go Girls!
