Boys and Girls Club, British Columbia- South Coast

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting the Boys and Girls Club of South Coast BC’s Active Living program.

The Active Living Program is a core feature of the after-school program at Boys and Girls Club and has three components- physical activity, healthy snacks and a cooking program.  Participants of the drop-in program will participate in a variety of physical activities each day, including basketball, floor hockey and yoga as well has have healthy snacks and meals available to help keep them fueled as well as providing valuable lessons on nutrition.

This grant was made possible by the fundraising efforts of the GoodLife Fitness Burnaby Northgate members and associates during the 2012 fundraising campaign.

On this final day of #NationalVolunteerWeek, we'd like to introduce you to one of our all-stars. Dr. Dick Barter is a force to be reckoned with. An emergency room physician and group fitness instructor, Dick knows the importance of physical activity in children's' lives. He is the man behind #Spin4Kids - the fundraiser started in St. John's, NL and has since inspired others event locations across the country to rally behind our cause. Under Dick's leadership over the years, the St. John's event alone has raised nearly $700,000 and is always a big party! Dick's passion has been key to bringing us to the next level... he truly is a man with a plan 🌟 #NVW2017 #VolunteeringEh? #Gratitude
