Boys and Girls Club of St. John's- Newfoundland

Blast Off to Wellness is a program that targets over 380 kids ages 5-17 in the St. John’s NL community who come from single parent and low-income homes. The program is made up of different components including: Back to Basics, a simple approach to forming a healthy lifestyle; Play for Life, where members can take part in various activities that combine fun with fitness; Eat Smart, which provides a nutritional after-school snack; Girls Decide!, which is designed to increase girls participation in physical activity as well as increase self-esteem; and Healthy Image, which focuses on creating a healthy and supportive environment. The program will run September-June and is available six days a week in two club locations.  

This grant was made possible by the fundraising efforts of Members and Associates of GoodLife Fitness St. John’s Torbay Road.
