Boys and Girls Club of Strathcona County, Alberta- Sherwood Park

GoodLife kids Foundation is supporting Boys and Girls Club of Strathcona County with a grant for the Cool Moves after school program.

Cool Moves addresses the needs of students aged 6-12 in Sherwood Park. The program aims to teach nutrition and the importance of healthy eating and physical activity to participants.  Currently in its 5th year, Cool Moves gives participants the opportunity to have fun and play for two hours twice per week, running from September through June.

The grant is made possible through the fundraising efforts of Sherwood Park Mall GoodLife Fitness members and associates during the 2012 Be A Kid’s Superhero Campaign.

Today we're celebrating the #SummerSolstice and #InternationalYogaDay Yoga is an awesome way to help kids develop important physical and mental skills - and it can be easily adapted for all ages and abilities! For younger children, keep practices short and use stories and familiar animals or objects as cues for them to mimic with their poses. For older kids, try building to some more challenging balancing poses or turn inwards to focus on the stress-relieving benefits of the practice. #activekids #yoga
