Christie Refugee Welcome Centre- Ontario, Toronto

Christie Refugee Welcome Centre, located in Toronto ON, advocates for refugee families by providing temporary housing, settlement services and follow-up support. The After School Fitness Program targets refugee children and contributes greatly to the mental and physical health as it provides them an opportunity to engage in physical activities. The program is for children ages 4-14 and will ultimately help with the transition to a new society, culture and language by giving them something in common with other kids. This program reaches 50-100 kids annually and the funds given by the grant will help grow the program.
