Civitan International Foundation of Canada, Ontario - Scarborough

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting Civitan International Foundation of Canada’s Donaldson’s Diamonds Special Hockey Program. This program provides a full hockey experience for developmentally challenged children ages 5-18 at the lowest fee possible. The program is used as a tool for growth and to help foster self-confidence, social skills, fitness skills and friendship. Funds from GoodLife Kids Foundation will be used to purchase specialized equipment called a Kaye Trainer to help new skaters with low muscle tone to take their first strides on the ice.

These funds are made possible through the 2015 Scarborough/North York Spin4Kids Plus fundraising event.

Today we're celebrating the #SummerSolstice and #InternationalYogaDay Yoga is an awesome way to help kids develop important physical and mental skills - and it can be easily adapted for all ages and abilities! For younger children, keep practices short and use stories and familiar animals or objects as cues for them to mimic with their poses. For older kids, try building to some more challenging balancing poses or turn inwards to focus on the stress-relieving benefits of the practice. #activekids #yoga
