Eastdale Public School, Ontario- Woodstock

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting Eastdale Public School’s Recess Ambassadors & Developmental Education Programs.

The Recess Ambassadors Program is a peer-led physical activity/games program.  Peer leaders are trained to lead younger students in a variety of fun games and activities during recess breaks. This program assists in developing a child’s leadership skills and helps make the school yard a safe place. Many of the students have difficulty starting, organizing and playing co-operative games; this can lead to many disputes and arguments. The Recess Ambassador Program helps to alleviate these issues.

In the Developmental Education program the goal is to provide activities to promote being physical active to students with physical and mental disabilities by taking their abilities into consideration.

This grant was made possible by the fundraising efforts of Woodstock Quality Inn GoodLife Fitness staff and members during the 2013 fundraising campaign.
