Girls On The Run, Ontario - Mississauga

Mississauga Group EXercise instructors and members made a passionate commitment to fundraise for GoodLife Kids Foundation during the 2011 Be A Kid’s Superhero Campaign, and their efforts are being recognized with a grant to Girls On The Run Greater Toronto Area to give girls the opportunity to be physically active.

Girls On The Run uses interactive curriculum and running to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles in pre-teen girls. The program also addresses aspects of girl’s development including, physical, emotional, mental and social well-being – providing the tools to make positive decisions and avoid risky adolescent behavior.

The grant will enable 21 girls without financial means at Brian W. Fleming Public School and Clifton Public School in Mississauga to experience running, and become empowered with life skills and confidence.
