Grandview Uuqinak'uuh Elementary School, British Columbia- Vancouver

grandview_uuqinak-uhh.jpgAlmost none of the students at Grandview Uuqinak'uhh have taken swimming lessons and very few of them are able to complete the basic swim-test that public pools give to allow children to swim in the deep end. As a 9-12 year old, this can be very embarrassing.

The Visions After School Program Swim Club aims to help these students learn to swim while having fun and beign active. Swim club will run once per week for each grade group (grades 3-4 and 5-7) with a new group of students each term. On swim club days, after a healthy snack, students walk 1km to the local community centre for their lesson.
