KidSport, British Columbia- Burnaby

The Burnaby Northgate GoodLife Fitness Club members and staff made a passionate commitment to fundraise for GoodLife Kids Foundation during the 2011 Be A Kid’s Superhero Campaign, and their efforts are being recognized with a grant to KidSport Burnaby to give children and youth the opportunity for sport.

Burnaby has the second highest population of low income families compared to other mainland municipalities, including a visible minority higher than the Metro Vancouver rate, which makes it especially challenging for children and youth to join in sport.

KidSport Burnaby makes it possible for children and youth to participate in organized sport who would otherwise not be able to due to financial circumstances. With the GoodLife Kids Foundation Grant to KidSport Burnaby, 35 to 50 children will have the opportunity to play a season of sport in Burnaby and develop lifelong habits of physical activity.
