Special Olympics Ontario

Special Olympics Ontario is committed to engaging children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability through all stages of their active lifestyle. PAHL Step Into Action is a project created to promote healthy active living to Special Olympics athletes and students across Ontario.  The project serves as a bridge to help attract new athletes to the movement while also enhancing the athlete’s abilities to invest in their overall health and wellbeing.

With a grant from GoodLife Kids Foundation 600 students ages 7 – 14, at 60 elementary schools across Ontario will be empowered to invest in their health and well-being by changing their perception and behavior toward physical activity.

The program will instill an attitude that physical wellness is a lifelong journey to be enjoyed. By showing students that being active can be fun, entertaining and creative, the students can take what they have learned and continue to lead a physically active and healthy life.
