St. Joseph's Elementary School, Newfoundland- Harbour Breton

GoodLife Kids Foundation is supporting St. Joseph’s Elementary School’s Green & Fit Program.

St. Joseph’s Elementary School is a K – 6 school located in the rural town of Harbour Breton NL.  Located on the south coast, this area has some of the highest rates of diabetes in Canada.  St. Joseph’s is working to change this statistic through their Green & Fit Program.  This program is designed to educate students on what it is to live a healthy life- one that includes daily physical activity. The program will look to enhance other programs already in place for students including physical education classes, Quality Daily Physical Activity, Participation Nation and family fitness nights with the purchase of new equipment.

This grant was made possible by the fundraising efforts of St. John’s Atlantic Place GoodLife Fitness associates and members during the 2013 fundraising campaign.
